But what is a sign, truly? How does it influence and shape the delicate threads of memory?

Places, scents, fleeting details—all are signs etched into the fabric of our recollections. Together, they form the very essence of who we are. While we dream endlessly of the future, it is worth noting that memory itself is the compass that navigates us through life’s complexities. Without it, even the concept of tomorrow becomes elusive.

So, why muse on such notions on Christmas Eve, a time of festivity and cheer? Because Christmas and New Year evoke the dearest and warmest of memories—the twinkling lights of a carousel, the laughter of children, the bustling charm of a Christmas bazaar.

Yet, for the founder of AxelMondrian and their generation, such magical Christmas memories were but a dream. Growing up in post-Soviet Armenia amidst collapse and war, Christmases were stark and cold, marked only by tables brimming with food in defiance of the dark. And so, the idea emerged: what if we could recreate the carousel? What if, by doing so, we could rewrite the narrative, turning a cycle of longing into a circle of joy?

This is the heart of this limited series—crafted with care for every adult to play alongside their child, to take home not just a gift but a spark of love and laughter, reignited on the carousel of life.
